Duplicate work items created when a word document was disconnected and reconnected to the same project, why?
I have a requirements document that was disconnected and reconnected to the same TFS project. When the document was reconected and published duplicate work items were created. Is there a way to "relink" the items so that duplicates are not created?

Disconnect's purpose is to be able to disconnect from a team project and reconnect to same or another project to reuse the content in Word documents as new work items. Disconnect removes the originally connected team project info as well as work item IDs connected to smart parts.
To recreate the original document linked to the same project with the same work item linked smart parts you should start a new document, connect to the team project and get work items into SmartWord using "GetWorkItem" or running one or more "Queries".

Hi Ramila,
In our new\latest version of SmartWord4TFS 4.0.2.5 it is showing the confirmation message and if user clicks the YES button then i get disconnected otherwise it doesn't.
Thanks,

Hi Admin,
Don't you think this is sort of a vulnerability because users might even disconnect the document by accident. It would be best if SmartWord4TFS at least showed a confirmation message informing the user the consequences or disconnecting the document. What do you think?
Thanks.
Best Regards,
Ramila
